Terms of Service
Last updated: 27 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Umber AI Inc. about your use of Umber's apps, website and services ("Umber"). By creating an account or using Umber, you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information.
Umber is in beta
Umber is in private beta. Features may change, pause or stop, and things may sometimes not work as expected. We'll do our best to tell you about significant changes ahead of time.
Your account
- You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, and give accurate sign-up information. A child can use Umber only as part of a Family account that a parent sets up and controls; the parent agrees to these terms for the child.
- Keep your sign-in secure. You're responsible for what happens under your account; tell us at support@umber.ai if you think someone else has used it.
What Umber does for you
- Umber is an assistant. It reads what you share with it and the accounts you connect, and suggests, drafts, reminds and organizes for you.
- Umber's answers, summaries and drafts are generated by AI and can be wrong or incomplete. Check anything important before you rely on it or act on it, and don't use Umber as a substitute for professional medical, legal or financial advice.
- Umber only reads your Gmail; it doesn't send Gmail for you. When Umber drafts a Gmail reply, you decide whether to send it, from your own email app. For other email accounts where you allow sending, such as Microsoft Outlook, Umber sends a message only after you approve it. You're responsible for the messages you send and the actions you take.
Accounts you connect
When you connect a service such as Google or Microsoft, you authorize Umber to access it with the permissions you approve. That service's own terms still apply to your use of it. You can remove Umber's access at any time in that service's own account settings.
Your content
You own what you put into Umber. You give us permission to store, process and transmit it only as needed to run Umber for you, as described in the Privacy Policy. You can ask Umber to forget something, ask us to delete your content, or delete your account at any time.
Acceptable use
Don't use Umber to break the law, harm or harass others, send spam, access accounts or data you aren't allowed to, interfere with or try to break the service, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows.
Ending your use
You can stop using Umber and delete your account at any time in Settings → Privacy. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other people or the service at risk, and we'll tell you why unless the law or safety prevents it.
Disclaimers and liability
Umber is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. To the fullest extent the law allows, Umber is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits, arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we do, we'll update the date at the top, and if a change is significant we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Umber after that, the new terms apply.
